Terms of Service
Last updated: October 18, 2026
The short version
- ClockBelt is business software. A company owner sets up and pays for the company account on our website. Employees never pay, and there is nothing to buy in the apps.
- Your company owns its data. You can download a backup at any time.
- ClockBelt keeps records. It is not a payroll service and not tax or legal advice. Check pay and tax figures in your payroll provider.
- These terms are governed by Missouri law.
1. The agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between TradeOps LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("TradeOps," "we," "us"), and the business that creates a ClockBelt company account (the "Company" or "you"). By creating a company account, you accept these Terms on behalf of that business and confirm that you are authorized to do so.
People who join a company to use ClockBelt, such as owners, foremen and workers ("Users"), must follow the rules in these Terms on accounts and acceptable use. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
2. The service
ClockBelt is a jobsite time clock, timesheet, job costing and payroll-prep service for small contractors. It is available on our website at https://clockbelt.com and in the ClockBelt apps for iPhone and Android. We may change, add or remove features over time. If we plan to remove a feature that matters to how you use ClockBelt, we will try to tell you in advance.
3. Accounts and company codes
- A business owner creates the company account on our website and becomes the company's owner.
- Each company has a company code. Employees use it to ask to join the company. Nobody gets access until an owner approves them.
- Each person has their own username and PIN. Keep your PIN private and don't share your sign-in. An account is for one person only.
- Share your company code only with people you want to join. You don't have to approve anyone you don't recognize.
- You are responsible for activity under your company's accounts, and for removing access for people who no longer work for you.
- Keep account information accurate, and tell us right away at support@clockbelt.com if you think an account has been used without permission.
4. Your responsibilities as the company
You are responsible for:
- your Users' use of ClockBelt and their compliance with these Terms;
- giving your employees any notices, and getting any consents, that the law requires, including for time records and for the location captured when they clock in and out;
- the accuracy of the time records you approve, and of the pay rates, withholding percentages and other information you enter;
- following the wage-and-hour, payroll, tax, child-labor and employment laws that apply to you, including rules on minimum wage, overtime, breaks and record keeping;
- having the right to enter information about your customers and other people into ClockBelt;
- keeping your own copies of the records you need (see section 7).
If you allow minors to use ClockBelt as your employees, they do so under your responsibility.
5. Acceptable use
You and your Users must not:
- use ClockBelt to break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- knowingly enter false time, pay or job records;
- try to access another company's data or another person's account, or probe, test or get around our security;
- interfere with or overload the service, or access it with bots, scrapers or other automated tools except through features we provide;
- upload viruses or other harmful code;
- copy, resell or rent ClockBelt, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows;
- use ClockBelt to harass anyone or to store unlawful content.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules.
6. Fees and billing
- Company accounts are paid for by the company owner on our website. Current prices are shown on the website when you sign up.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored by ClockBelt.
- There is nothing to buy inside the ClockBelt mobile apps. Employees never pay to use ClockBelt.
- Fees are charged as described at sign-up and continue until you cancel. You are responsible for any sales or similar taxes that apply.
- If a payment fails and isn't fixed after we let you know, we may suspend the company account until it is.
- We may change prices. We will tell you in advance, and the new prices will apply from your next billing period.
7. Cancellation and data export
- You can cancel at any time by closing your company in ClockBelt, or by emailing support@clockbelt.com. Cancelling stops future charges.
- You can download a backup of your company's records at any time (Settings → Download backup) and use ClockBelt's exports, such as the QuickBooks exports. Please do this before you close your company.
- When a company is closed, it is locked immediately and all of its records are permanently deleted within 30 days. After that we can't recover them.
- Individual Users can delete their own accounts (More → Delete my account). The Company keeps the hours and pay records it must keep by law, as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Your data
- "Company Data" means the information you and your Users put into ClockBelt, such as time records, pay information, jobs, customers, expenses, payments and notes.
- You own your Company Data. We don't claim any ownership of it.
- You give us permission to host, copy, process, transmit and display Company Data only as needed to provide and support ClockBelt, keep it secure, and comply with the law.
- We don't sell Company Data or use it for advertising.
- We may use aggregated, anonymized usage information that doesn't identify you, your company or any person, only to run and improve ClockBelt.
- For personal information about your employees, you decide what is entered and you are responsible for it. We process it on your behalf, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
9. Not payroll, tax or legal advice
ClockBelt is a record-keeping tool. It is not a payroll service: it does not pay employees, and it does not file or pay taxes. Pay, withholding and tax figures in ClockBelt, including those on pay stubs, are estimates based on what you enter. Check them in your payroll provider (for example, QuickBooks) before you pay anyone or file anything.
Nothing in ClockBelt is payroll, tax, accounting or legal advice. Talk to a qualified professional about your obligations.
10. Other companies' services
ClockBelt works with services we don't control, such as Intuit QuickBooks (if you connect it), Stripe, Apple and Google. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for ClockBelt or its support.
11. Availability
We work to keep ClockBelt running and your data safe, but we don't guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may pause it for maintenance or updates, and it can be affected by things outside our control, such as internet, hosting or phone network outages. We keep daily backups for 5 days, but you are responsible for keeping your own copies of the records you need.
12. Disclaimers
To the extent allowed by law, ClockBelt is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not warrant that ClockBelt's calculations, including pay, tax, cost and profit figures, are accurate or suitable for your purposes.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law:
(a) TradeOps will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business, even if we were told they were possible; and
(b) TradeOps's total liability for all claims relating to ClockBelt or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for ClockBelt in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim, or $100.
Some laws don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
14. Indemnity
The Company will defend, indemnify and hold harmless TradeOps LLC and its members, employees and agents from any third-party claims, damages, losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: the Company Data; the Company's or its Users' use of ClockBelt; the Company's employment, wage-and-hour, payroll or tax practices; or the Company's breach of these Terms or the law. Third parties include the Company's employees, customers and government agencies.
15. Termination
- You may stop using ClockBelt and close your company at any time (see section 7).
- We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, don't pay, or if your use creates a legal or security risk for us or others. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem and download your data.
- If we ever stop offering ClockBelt, we will give company owners reasonable notice in advance and a chance to download their data.
- Sections that by their nature should continue after termination will continue, including those on fees owed, data deletion, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to ClockBelt or these Terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, and both parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will also give notice in the app or on our website before they take effect. If you keep using ClockBelt after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, stop using ClockBelt and close your company.
18. General
- These Terms, our Privacy Policy and anything shown to you at sign-up are the whole agreement between you and TradeOps about ClockBelt.
- If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest stays in effect.
- If we don't enforce a part of these Terms right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
- You may not transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, sale or reorganization.
